Make a Lab in Any Room | Lighting Breakdown

This scene is a testament to the wonders of production design and lighting! Is that some kind of serum in the test tube? Nope, it's Redbull. As a gaffer, I'm not often involved in styling a set. But the cheesiest thing you can do for your "science" shots is use brightly colored liquid.

The setup on this one was relatively simple: a Litemat 4 overhead set to 3200K a Joker 200 with a small Chimera Stripbank illuminating the ceiling for an ambient lift, and a Joker 400 with 1/2 CTB for a cooler push on the edge. We even blasted a small torch into the lens for a flare to add some visual interest and abstraction in hopes of distracting the viewer from looking too closely at our set.
